West-Portugal in the TOP
The Portuguese West Region along with the Municipality of Torres Vedras won, as Quality Coast, the 1st place in the category "Best of Cities, Communities & Culture", awarded on Wednesday March 7th in Berlin under the "ITB Berlin ", one of the most important international travel fairs.
The Historical Route of the Lines of Torres Vedras (RHLT) is inserted in this region and, through a set of forts and military roads, supported by Interpretation / Reception Centers, contributes to the conciliation of the promotion of a product of culture and tourism, with good environmental practices with the balance of the natural environment, endogenous and with usufruct of the populations and of those who visit us.
The selection of the most sustainable destinations was made by a jury composed of 12 international organizations from a total of 100 destinations worldwide. Quality, attractiveness and sustainability in tourism are chosen traits for the 10 best sustainable destinations in the world.
"ITB Berlin promotes the sustainability of tourism in this way as a prestigious opportunity to show the world its "green destinations".
